Kevin Elder - Winemaker
Kevin is responsible for the many delicious wines you end up drinking. He is a busy man, making wines for both Windsor Run and all of our custom crush clients. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, and Greyhound dog.
Elizabeth Higley - Winemaker
Elizabeth works behind the scenes with Kevin to produce our excellent wines. Grounded in data-based winemaking, she has pushed us to adopt and experiment with new wine management techniques. A self-described “fermentation nerd”, Elizabeth can be found brewing Kombucha or Pulque on the weekends.
Dana Acker - Distiller
Dana is a renaissance man. Formerly the winemaker at Windsor Run, he now focuses his attention on our spirits lineup. Dana is also an ordained minister, knife maker, and wealth of knowledge on smuggling tequila out of Mexico. Instantly recognizable by his ZZ Top beard, he is a true icon of the NC wine industry.
Lisa Milstead - Tasting Room Manager
Lisa is responsible for creating the fun tasting room atmosphere Windsor Run is known for. She has the pleasure of guiding customers, both wine experts and beginners alike, through our product lineup. Lisa is also a racing fan and has driven a track car on several road courses throughout the US.
Justin Johnson - Operations Manager
Formerly a corporate finance analyst, Justin decided to make his life a bit more interesting and join the family wine business. He spends his time working on projects to make the winery more efficient, and while he may not know a Tempranillo from a Grenache, he enjoys learning from and working with the wine experts around him.
Chuck Johnson - Owner
Chuck is the boss, but we still like him. He is in charge of the whole show, and he keeps it humming along pretty well! Chuck and his wife Jamey also own nearby Shadow Springs Vineyard, and he has served on the NC Winegrowers Association board for the past several years. A former logistics industry executive, he brings a strategic mindset to the NC wine industry.
